Holy Trinity Elementary - Extra Curricular Activities

.

Battle of the Books - This is a great opportunity for students in grades 3-6 to read and compete against one another about their knowledge of the books they read. Groups of 4-6 students read books picked from a list of award winners and at the end of the school year will "battle" to see who has remembered the most from the books.

Opus - This is a special choir that students in grades 4-6 must try out, record themselves singing, and send it in. If selected, they are asked to go to Ames and perform with other students in the state. Mrs. Peck works with students before they tape and after.

Math Bee - Mrs. Peitz and a team of selected 6th graders practice to compete with area students in the annual math bee. Students who are interested work with Mrs. Peitz on various math equations in order to prepare for the competition.

Band - All students in grades 5 and 6 are given the opportunity to join band. Students have lessons with instructor Mrs. Otte one day a week and then full band rehearses another day. Our 5th and 6th grade bands perform at various activities through the year.

Basketball - Boys and girls in grades 5-6 are eligible to participate in basketball. Information is available as the seasons approach. We encourage fair play and fun in a catholic manner.
