Important News 

Orientation for all 7th Graders and New Students to the Jr/Sr High Building will be Monday, Aug. 21st at 6:00 PM. 

 

Unpack Your Backpack for the Elementary will be Tuesday, Aug. 22nd from 5:00 - 6:30 PM.

 

Joe from the HTC Jr/Sr High kitchen would love any donations of fruit or vegetables, if you have extra produce from your gardens this fall!

 

First day of classes - HTC will be following Fort Madison Public's schedule.  We will be dismissing students at APPROXIMATELY 11:10 AM at the Elementary and APPROXIMATELY 11:30 at the Jr/Sr High.  School lunch WILL NOT be served.   PLEASE be patient, these times are approximate.  "Bus riders" and "town kids" may be dismissed at slightly different times.  Please see bus schedule below.

 

First Day of Classes will be Wednesday, Aug. 23rd.  Route buses will be running that day.  Fort Madison Public will contact you with times, if you are riding a route bus.   Bus times may vary a bit for the first couple weeks, as the drivers are getting used to their routes.
Morning Shuttle Bus times are: 
Leave West Point Elementary at 7:30 AM, for the HTC Jr/Sr High
Leave Jr/Sr High at 7:55 AM, for the Elementary
Leave ECC at 8:05 AM, for the Elementary
For Aug. 23rd only:

Elementary Faculty and Staff

Allison Arevalo

Allison Arevalo graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2004 with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in K-8 Language Arts. In 2015, she completed her gifted education endorsement from the University of Northern Iowa. She taught 8 years in Clark County, Missouri before coming to teach at Holy Trinity in 2012. Mrs. Arevalo teaches BTC (Beyond the Classroom) in grades K-12. She enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 children.

Grised Daley
Mrs. Daley lived in Florida for 37 years before moving to Iowa. Grised and her husband, Mike, moved to Fort Madison in order to be closer to family and to live in a small town. In her spare time, Grised enjoys reading, bike riding, gardening, playing with her dog (Salty), and spending time with family.

Mrs. Daley has a B.S. Degree in Elementary Education and has been an elementary school teacher for about 13 years. Mrs. Daley said she enjoyed teaching at HTC last year, because of the kindness of the students, families, teachers and staff. “I have always wanted to be a part of an educational environment rich in caring and excellence.”

Tracy Dingman
Mrs. Dingman will be teaching kindergarten again this year. She graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a B.A. degree in elementary education. Tracy is married to John Dingman, and they have three beautiful daughters. Her hobbies include scrapbooking and working outdoors. Tracy likes to spend her free time with family and friends.

Lois Di Prima

Lois Di Prima graduated from Graceland College (Graceland University) in 1974 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Art Education. She taught in Weslaco,Texas for three years where she received her bi-lingual endorsement in Spanish. She came to Fort Madison in 1977 and began teaching Reading for the FMCSD in1979. While with the District, she taught Talented and Gifted ( 3 years) and taught Art. She retired from Fort Madison in 2014 after 35 years of service. She joined the HTC staff in the Fall of 2014 and is beginning her second year with HTC
Lois is an active member of the Nauvoo Community of Christ where she serves as a priest and music coordinator.
Lois has two stepsons, two sons, and one step daughter. She has six step grandchildren, one grandson , and one grandchild on the way.
In her spare time, Lois works as a tour guide and 19th century crafts specialist for the Joseph Smith Historic Site. Her other hobbies include spinning, reading, gardening, sewing, playing the dulcimer and piano. She enjoys walking and watching her grandchildren and daughter's various activities.

Julie Freesmeier
Mrs. Freesmeier taught 24 years in the Aquinas School System before teaching at Holy Trinity. She graduated Iowa Wesleyan College with degrees in Elementary and Special Education.
She is involved as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family Parish and loves spending time with her six grandchildren. Mrs. Freesmeier teaches first grade.

Jessica Gutzman

Jessica Gutzman graduated from The University of Toledo in 2009 with a bachelor's degree in Special Education and received her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Viterbo University in 2014. Jessica's first 6 years after college were spent teaching 9-12th grade special education at Fort Madison High School before joining the HTC staff. Mrs. Gutzman provides services for students in grades K-12.

Corey Hamilton

Mr. Hamilton will be our Technology Integration Specialist. He will be responsible for connecting the students' curriculum to the wonderful world of technology. He will be working alongside each teacher to ensure that the students will be engaged in technology while still receiving meaningful instruction. He graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a degree in Elementary Education and an endorsement in Social Studies.

In his spare time, Corey loves watching football with his wife and spending time with his twin daughters.

Teri Holtkamp
Mrs. Holtkamp graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a B.A in Education. Teri will be teaching in the 4th grade this year. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and friends.

Megan Howard- 4-6th Music

Megan Howard graduated from Western Illinois University with a degree in K-12 Music Education. She taught at the Danville School District and Mt. Pleasant Christian School before coming to Holy Trinity in 2017. Mrs. Howard will be teaching 4-6th grade Music and directing the Crusader Choir. She also co-directs the Shoquoquon Children’s Choir in Burlington. She enjoys scrapbooking, playing cards, and spending time with her husband and two kids.

Sally Knustrum
Sally Knustrom has taught in the Aquinas School System for 19 years before becoming a part of Holy Trinity Catholic Schools. Sally graduated from Central College in 1985 with a B.A. and an Early Childhood Endorsement. Mrs. Knustrom teaches Kindergarten.

Lynn Meierotto
Lynn Meierotto graduated from Clarke College in Dubuque Iowa with a major in Mathematics and Elementary Education. She taught in the Aquinas system for 27 years before becoming a member of the Holy Trinity faculty. She enjoys cross-stitching, spending time with her grandsons,and reading She's involved as a Eucharistic Minister at Holy Family parish. Ms. Meierotto teaches 3rd grade.

Sara Mohrfeld
Sara Mohrfeld taught at Marquette 6 years prior to teaching for Holy Trinity Catholic Schools. Mrs. Mohrfeld graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and teaches 5th grade. Sara enjoys spending time with family and friends. 

Emily Neeley

Mrs. Neeley  graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in December 2014 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and is presently working on completion of a reading endorsement.Emily is married with four very active kids, ages 18, 15-year-old twins, and 12 years. Their family lives on a hobby farm in Van Buren County and are active members of 4H. They  love our horses and enjoy showing, riding, and rodeo performance. Emily and her husband also enjoy watching their kids in a variety of school activities, including music and sports.  they also enjoy swimming and boating and just spending time with family.

I am a member of St. Boniface Parish in Farmington where I currently lector and have also taught as a catechist for 10 years.

Emily Otte - Band 

Emily Otte graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College in 1995 with a Bachelor of Music Education
degree. She also earned a Master of Science in Education as a Reading Specialist from
Western Illinois University in 2003.
Mrs. Otte taught at Aquinas and Macomb, Illinois before returning to teach instrumental music at
Holy Trinity in 2009. Mrs. Otte performs with the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra,
Southeast Iowa Band, Nauvoo Community Band and Orchestra and the Fort Madison City
Band. When Emily is not playing her clarinet, she enjoys spending time kayaking, hiking and
traveling with her husband Darin and their 3 children. 

Paula Pedrick

Paula Pedrick graduated from Buena Vista University in Ottumwa, IA in 1989 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education with an endorsement in Reading. She taught one year of preschool, and then 12 years at Van Buren. Ms. Pedrick moved to Tennessee, teaching 12 years. While in Tennessee she received her Masters of Science degree in Education with Integration of Technology. She moved back to Iowa in 2014 to be closer to her family. She is currently teaching 3rd grade at Holy Trinity in West Point.

Ms. Pedrick has two grandchildren, Sidney (8) and Avery (6). She is presently living in Keosauqua with plans to move to Lee County in the very near future.

Ms. Pedrick enjoys sewing, fishing, cooking, and reading. She’s an animal lover, having a new puppy and a cat!

Linda Peitz
Linda Peitz graduated from Quincy College in May of 1979 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Bachelor of Science in Special Education. She taught 26 years in the Aquinas School System before becoming part of Holy Trinity Schools. She is the 6th grade teacher.
Linda is an active member of St. Mary's parish in West Point where she serves as a lector and Eucharistic Minister.
Linda and her husband have lived in rural West Point since 1978. They have two grown children and three grandchildren (with #4 on the way!). Her favorite hobbies are reading and watching sports - especially St. Louis Cardinal Baseball!
Karen Schumaker
Karen Schumaker taught in the Aquinas School System for 26 years prior to teaching at Holy Trinity Catholic Schools. Karen graduated from Iowa Wesleyan College with majors in Elementary Education as well as Special Education. Ms. Schumaker is active in the Sacred Heart Parish as a song leader, Lector, Eucharistic Minister, member of the Adult Choir, Youth Choir Co-Leader, Altar & Rosary Society, and Liturgy Committee. Karen was a recipient of the Golden Apple Teacher Award presented by WGEM T.V. Ms. Schumaker teaches Religion to all of our elementary students.

Michael Sheerin - Principal

Ethan Siebers graduated from Millikin University located in Decatur Illinois in May of 2012. He is beginning his second year of teaching this year at HTC schools as the Elementary Physical Education teacher in West Point. Ethan taught middle school Social Studies last year at St. Francis Solanus School in his home town of Quincy, Illinois. Ethan is now living in Burlington and is excited to call himself an Iowan.
He is currently a member of St. Francis Solanus parish in Quincy but is searching for a new Parish in the Burlington area that will welcome him as a member. In his free time, Ethan enjoys hunting, camping, the St. Louis Cardinals and rock climbing! Ethan also volunteers for the Boy Scouts of America as a climbing and C.O.P.E. (Challenging Outdoor Personal Experience) instructor.

Jill Stull
Mrs. Stull graduated from Western Illinois University in 2007 with a degree in Elementary Education with middle school endorsements in social studies and language arts. Jill graduated in May of 2014 from Quincy University with a master's degree in School Counseling. Jill’s first four years after college were spent teaching 7th grade geography at the Fort Madison Middle School before joining the HTC staff. Mrs. Stull provides K-12 Guidance and serves as the Jr. High Student Council supervisor.

Julie Vance - Vocal Music K-4
Julie Vance teaches K -4 general music at Holy Trinity. This is her second year in this position. Julie graduated from Northwestern College in St. Paul, Minnesota with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. She directs the children's choir at church, and enjoys singing and playing the French horn. Julie and her husband Rob, have seven children and live on a hobby farm near Farmington.
