Holy Trinity Elementary Closed Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14.
January 12, 2022
Dear Parents and Guardians,
In response to increasing numbers of COVID-19 cases at Holy Trinity Elementary and after consulting with our local Health Department, the decision has been made to close our school for the remainder of the week – Thursday, January 13 and Friday, January 14. There will be no remote learning expectation during the closure. All school activities, including sports, for Holy Trinity Elementary will be cancelled through Sunday, January 16, 2022.
This closure is for Elementary only. Holy Trinity Jr/Sr High School is still in session and students are expected to report to school as normal.
We understand the impacts closures have on families and students and we made this decision based on the latest guidance from state and local public health officials.
In Iowa, Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) states, “If a case of COVID-19 is identified in a school, exposed students and teachers can be advised to consider staying home in accordance with public health best practices to monitor for symptoms.” IDPH is not requiring your student to quarantine but if you choose to quarantine your student, please let your school health office know. Current CDC Guidelines for Quarantine and Exposure.
Please continue to monitor your family DAILY for signs & symptoms of COVID-19:
Cough Fever 100.0 or higher New loss of taste or smell
Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Chills Muscle pain Runny nose or congestion
Sore throat Nausea or vomiting Diarrhea Headache
If your child is experiencing one of the high-risk symptoms (in bold above) OR 2 or more low-risk symptoms, please keep them home from school and consult with your health care provider for recommendations.
We appreciate your assistance in keeping our school community as healthy as possible.
Sincerely,
Craig Huebner,
